Fantastic LMS with interactive coding

Well, currently there is many lifetime deals for LMS. Hard to select a good one !

CourseMaker is really different from others, that's the only one with an interactive coding feature. So, for course makers that want to mix videos sessions, markdown sessions and coding exercises, that is a no brainer. Currently, you can offer coding sessions on Python, Javascript, Go, C#...and...Machine Learning with all the dependencies like numpy, pandas, scikit-learn...AMAZING

But if you don't need coding exercises feature, it remains a great LMS with unlimited videos included with sections and lectures per course (number of courses depends on the plan chosen). Landing page for each course and membership feature.

UI is really standard, maybe it would be improved later :)

UX is fine !

Translation is not on the roadmap, it would be great to add it in the next months ;)

Thanks for this deal, it has a lot of potential.

Simple tool so that you don't overwhelm yourself

Most LMS they have tons of features that makes it so complex. Coursemaker is just a simple tool that has the features required in an LMS. With your busy life, sometimes all you want is to put up a course very quickly and that's what CourseMaker can do for you.

It allows you to create multiple schools(you'd have to buy codes for individual schools) so it's good for agencies who creates online courses for their clients.

There is also a console with scripts already pre-loaded so your students can learn coding a lot simpler through Coursemaker as well.

This is a good solution for anyone who wants to just create online courses without having to mess around with so many stuff.

However we will be adding multiple admins eventually.

Hi, does it support Latex math equations or can I add custom script to the header or footer to do that. I am interested in academic school subjects like maths.

Also, am I right in believing there is no quizzing?

Is there anyway to test it before buying?

You can embed Google forms as a quiz workaround at the moment - quizzes are on the roadmap.

Hello there,

I would like to like that deal ! But actually that doesn't look a great deal. Fees and branding are deal breakers for many of us...

I can understand fees because you offer video storage with Vimeo. But that offer is great for small teachers (less than 50 sales a month)... as soon as you get many sales per month, the fees are going bigger and bigger (and much much bigger that would have cost Vimeo). I can accept these fees and share a fraction of the sale (0.25$ at the higher tier) if it helps CourseMaker being a great product in the future...

But branding, no way. I don't want to promote the solution. And the branding in the footer is a little ugly to be honest :/

You could display branding by default for people that don't mind and offer ability to remove it for others.

Your product is really in early stage, not really useable currently (to be a complete LMS). We can't offer free courses (until we ask support), no translation at all (and not on the roadmap), it lack of flexibility at that point.

Actually, I would like to invest on CourseMaker and grab tier 2 or 3...but without the ability to remove or not the branding, that is a no go. Please consider offering branding removal in that deal :)

@Vincent: Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure why you would think this isn't a good deal: Typical solutions (Teachable, Podia etc.) run at $79-$99 *per month* for the functionality you are getting here. I appreciate they have more features (though I'd argue they are nice-to-have features), which is why we are here and they are not. Yes, CourseMaker is young, but we have authors happily running their courses.

I'm glad you understand the fees - costs like video streaming and code execution scale with student numbers.

Re: removing the branding, I'll allow it for folks who purchase the tier 3 deal on a request basis (email me). I'd just ask you consider whether you *really* care about this, or would be open to supporting a boostrapped, indie business.

@Chris: I'm not sure you get competitors, you are not a "classic" LMS. It's best suited for code courses : javascript, Python, DS/ML...

I have my own video storage (that I can't use on CourseMaker, maybe later ?), and I usually do 500 - 1000 sales per month. So it's 125-250$ fees. So with the branding, the lack of customizations and flexibility (for the moment) make me feel it's not a great deal. It could be expensive as the number of sales increases.

But as I said, I think CourseMaker has potential and I want to use it and create Javascript course on it :)

My only 'last' deal breaker was the branding removal. You are open to remove it, so I will probably stack it ! That doesn't mean I don't want to promote CourseMaker, I will to other devs and teachers. But my students are not the target and I like my courses being white label :)

Hello Chris,

1. Is that possible to remove CourseMaker branding on student sides?

2. Can we edit footer of the page like terms and privacy links ?

3. Can we edit the cookie banner (or remove it) ?

4. What about translation and more customization for landing pages ? on the roadmap?

5. for the interactive coding part, I would like to have the lesson + instructions on the left in markdown (like missions with learning part and instructions part for the coding exercise) and the coding panel on the right, is that possible ? it could be great too to have a 'Need Help' button which display/hide hints and a button 'See Solution' that display/hide the solution. It could be good to have a button 'Run code' to see what happens (output + variables created) and a button 'submit answer' to validate the exercise (if output matches) and getting a Completed Mark in the student dashboard :)

6. Community on the roadmap? General one like a forum and comments ont each session

7. Is a general dashboard for students is on the roadmap (and capability to customize it from admin panel) ? Like number of lessons and projects left, time of learning, number of projects, practices, lessons completed last week / last month / lifetime, etc.

Something with a nice UX

@Rod: 1. No, but it's pretty modest in the footer

2. Yes (i.e. you can modify the text, you can't remove the pages completely)

3. No

4. Customization is on the roadmap, translation is not

5. We're working on the ability to run test suites so you can give a lot of granular detail here

6. Lecture comments are on the roadmap (high priority) - gives forum-like functionality

7. No, but Zapier and email drip is on the roadmap, and we could make this data available so you push it via email

@Chris: Thanks Chris !

Yes I have seen it, but I don't use LMS with branding. Your monthly plans remove the branding, right ? (Not LTD)

Well, I only need the interactive coding part, but the lack of customization (translation, cookie banner, student tracking) makes it hard to use for me right now. But I keep an eye of your solution for later on :)

Good luck
