Introducing CourseMaker

  • Best Suited for: Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Content Creators

Start creating your first course by adding a school. Add your first course, and then create the sections which will be a part of your Course Curriculum.

Now, add the lessons a.k.a lectures one by one in your Course. Under each lesson, you can upload your video, documents, audio, etc.

Are you still working on the content & not ready to be published yet? You can upload the files, but make your lesson/lecture hidden, and keep working on in the background.

You can also unlock specific lessons to your students who enrolled for Free (value-based marketing to make them pay later)

You can create unlimited courses at your school, and enroll unlimited students under each course.

If you want to create a membership site with many courses, you can do that and start a subscription business yourself.

PLUS, if you’re offering coding lessons to your students you can make it interactive for them.

You can find the same under the tab “interactive coding”

For every course, you can create a custom landing page.

With the real-time preview, as & when you enter the Overview of your course, Testimonials, FAQ etc., you can preview the same on the right side of the screen.

You will then be asked to upload the Course image & Preview video of your course.

And then the Author details (it’s time to brag about yourself, yay!!) to complete everything you want your students to see.

You can set up the Price for each of your courses (Money, Money, Money), or for the enrollment to your whole school.

Connect your Paddle, or Stripe account to start collecting payments. Once connected, you can also create coupons for every course that you’re selling.

From your Performance dashboard, you can keep track of your earnings for every course, or for all the courses.

You can easily export the list of students, under the “Users” tab as a CSV file.

Set up your School under your Custom Domain easily by adding a CNAME record. You also get SSL/TLS Certificates out of the box.

CourseMaker is fully GDPR compliant. And, their Tax Auto-Remittance system will take care of the Tax remittances for you, if you’re a Paddle user.

Fantastic LMS with interactive coding

Well, currently there is many lifetime deals for LMS. Hard to select a good one !

CourseMaker is really different from others, that's the only one with an interactive coding feature. So, for course makers that want to mix videos sessions, markdown sessions and coding exercises, that is a no brainer. Currently, you can offer coding sessions on Python, Javascript, Go, C#...and...Machine Learning with all the dependencies like numpy, pandas, scikit-learn...AMAZING

But if you don't need coding exercises feature, it remains a great LMS with unlimited videos included with sections and lectures per course (number of courses depends on the plan chosen). Landing page for each course and membership feature.

UI is really standard, maybe it would be improved later :)

UX is fine !

Translation is not on the roadmap, it would be great to add it in the next months ;)

Thanks for this deal, it has a lot of potential.

Simple tool so that you don't overwhelm yourself

Most LMS they have tons of features that makes it so complex. Coursemaker is just a simple tool that has the features required in an LMS. With your busy life, sometimes all you want is to put up a course very quickly and that's what CourseMaker can do for you.

It allows you to create multiple schools(you'd have to buy codes for individual schools) so it's good for agencies who creates online courses for their clients.

There is also a console with scripts already pre-loaded so your students can learn coding a lot simpler through Coursemaker as well.

This is a good solution for anyone who wants to just create online courses without having to mess around with so many stuff.

Any plans of supporting “SQL” or Power BI “M” / “DAX” languages? More interested in SQL at this time, thanks.

We are an NGO and we don't sell courses.

Would the fee apply if courses are for free?

@[TIOF] Contact: For a free course, the fee would not apply. However, I allow free courses on a case-by-case basis. If your student numbers are modest, then I'm OK to enable.

@Chris: This scenario wouldn't be suitable then as we plan to grow our userbase way beyond what I'd expect is your acceptable threshold (and no criticism here).

Cool offer otherwise. Thx for the quick response.

Let's say I manage courses for influencers, how would the costume domain work? Does each course gets it's own domain name e.g course.jayz.com | course.ronaldo.com | course.khabib.com ... etc?

@Ben: No, each school gets its own domain name. So you'd need to create a new school (i.e. new account) per influencer.

Hello there , the app looks so much promising. There are a few questions needed for me to decide for purchase.

1. Will you be adding Ruby language ?

2. Quiz and Certification builders are really needed. When will they be added ?

3. Will you be adding custom font and language options?

4. Will you be adding Community Forum for students and blog features?

Thank you.

Hi, two questions. I am thinking about purchasing this software.

1. Do you have any plans of implementing quizzes into the software?

2. If CourseMaker ever shuts down, will you be able to release the software to be self-hosted on our own servers? This way if CourseMaker is no longer supported, we can still host our own site.

@Alex: 1) Yes, fairly soon

2) No, but the Gatsby theme is open source. We're also going to be looking at an export functionality. n.b. CourseMaker is not shutting down.

1) Would CourseMaker be suitable for teaching:

a. basic Web Development: HTML, CSS, and JS courses? Can the 'interactive coding' feature be used to help with these languages by providing a 'live preview' in any way, like the Markdown field does?

b. Frontend-focused Javascript frameworks like Vue and AlpineJS? - again, with a 'live' preview?

c. PHP - including PHP frameworks like Laravel, Codeigniter and Fat-Free?

2) Is it possible to customise school and courses' landing pages beyond merely changing the logo? - asking because our brand guidelines specify colours and fonts that we must use, too.

3) Is there a public roadmap, so we can see what's being worked on right now, what's on the backlog, etc.?

4) By purchasing 3 codes, are we assured to have access to ALL future features of CourseMaker?

Many thanks in advance for your clarification.

@Igor:

1) a/b You won't get a live preview for HTML pages, but you'll get decent syntax highlighting and we do plan to integrate with systems like StackBlitz https://stackblitz.com/ to provide the kind of preview you want (works for Angular + Vue too)

1 c) We don't support PHP yet (we do JS, Python, Java, Go, C# and Rust), but it'll be here soon

2) Not yet, but that's on the roadmap

3) No, but I can tell you that the primary focus is on enhancing the interactive coding capabilities. Features you'll see in the next month include running test suites against interactive code exercises. Then in Q4 multifile exercises (including datafiles). Plus more languages.

4) Yes

Can you explain how you take your $0.25-$1 fee per sale after the 50 sales? If I connect Paddle, then doesn't the full course payment amount go directly to my Paddle account? How do I pay you the per sale fee or how is it automatically taken out of my account?
