You are sending emails back & forth to communicate with your clients and customers. How is that working out for you?

It only ends up in more & more emails for you to read and write.

Visuals make the content more catchy, fun, or interesting. Instead of repeating things over & over as text, record the video and send them over.

Introducing Calipio

PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS

  • Record, Edit & Share Unlimited Videos
  • Alternative to: Loom
  • No installation required & works on all browsers
  • Best suited for Sales People, Support Executives, Teachers, Freelancers

You can start with Calipio by creating a library for your brand/company/workspace.

Since there is no installation required, all you have to do is just click “Start Recording” and provide access to your cam/microphone (whichever is needed)

That’s pretty much all you need to do to start your first recording session.

Once the recording is completed, you can either download the record video, and upload to youtube, or your favorite video hosting tool.

Alternatively, you can use the unique URL that Calipio generates which you can share with your recipients.

Calipio also makes it easy for your recipients to share this video with their friends & peers (if needed) by including the social share buttons.

Working with a team, and having to create all the videos all by yourself is not doable (unless you operate solo)

You can invite your team members to join your library, and they can start recording the videos as well.

And you will have access to all the videos recorded by them as well.

Plus, you can use your Custom branding instead of Calipio branding when sharing the links with everyone.

Normally, you would have to shell out $59 per month to record & store upto 2,500 minutes, for 100 users.

Today, you get a very, very special deal to store upto 2,000 minutes for $35/lifetime that comes with unlimited users.

And you can stack 3 deals to get Unlimited minutes.

Best Video recording LTD for 2021

This is the best deal I have ever made in 2021.

This is a great tool for video recording (both screen and webcam). I like its video hosting and sharing features very much.

Calipio has a fantastic UI with a clean look. Its navigation is also very easy to glide.

And lastly, I must appreciate its video quality. This is really a good deal for the money.

$75 for unlimited usage and storage? Just give me 2 years and I'm happy as a clam.

I've BerryCast unlimited but I just can't help myself from getting this since it promises encryption.

The setup is simple and easy to follow. The default mode is just mute screen recording so there are a couple of videos earlier on that was sent out without any sound. 😆

There are some upgrades expected on the horizon. Sub-accounts and ability to download videos...

As long as Calipio keeps it simple and lightweight🙏 , they will gather a lot of fans along the way.

For a recording of 20-25mins, I need to let it "sit" for 3-5 minutes before sharing. This is consistent for me since I got this tool. Performance wise, not too bad. Nobody has complained about the quality of those recordings sent yet. 😎

Sampath and team are on ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥 in 2021...can't wait for them uncover the next gem.

Fantastic platform, don't hesitate.

Hands on one of the best LTD purchases I've done.

Easy to use and with team that seems hungry for more.

The product is so simple to use that I am struggling to find ways to write this review.

Few clicks and you are set to go and record your screen in a way that simply works and without installing anything. How more simple could it be?

I got the 3 codes tier and I am extremely happy about it.

Nifty Tool for Recording Anywhere. Great for Digital Nomads

Easy to use. Doesn't require any installations of chrome extensions or desktop applications so you can access calipio anytime from any computer and start recording.

I would love to see a mobile app, recording desktop audio, adjustable webcam location as well. Otherwise this is a really nifty tool.

I have also made a video review on Youtube if you'd like to check it out.

(b) - (e) Are currently not on the roadmap. If these features are in demand and are requested on our ProdCamp website, they will easily be implemented.

Why a recovery key is necessary? If I understand correctly, if we happen to forget this key then access to the account will be lost permanently?

If so, that is not a good design. Such option is unnecessary and serve no purpose. BerryCast doesn't require it and I like it that way. Please consider removing this silly option.

CALIPIO

Hello Andy,

Calipio recordings are end-to-end encrypted to keep your videos confidential. This means that no one else (not even us) can watch your video except you and the people you share the record link with. Read our article on end-to-end encryption https://calipio.com/blog/calipios-approach-to-e2ee/ and our whitepaper https://calipio.com/blog/end-to-end-encryption -whitepaper /

You ask why a recovery key is needed. As mentioned before, all recordings are end-to-end encrypted. Each recording is encrypted with an individual key. All of these keys are kept in a kind of safe that is locked with your password. If you forget the password, the safe cannot be opened except with the recovery key. It is therefore important that you keep the recovery key in a safe place.

BerryCast has not implemented end-to-end encryption, which means that they can access all recordings uploaded to their platform. Since berrycast does not encrypt anything with your password, they can simply reset it, if you forget it.

The concept of a recovery key for end-to-end encrypted platforms is widespread, you can find it at mega.io or several cryptocurrency wallets.

Hopefully by now you understand the need for a recovery key.

@CALIPIO: I understand but I don't agree with your method. Having end-to-end encryption is a very smart. Having an account tied into a recovery key is opposite of being smart. It is a terrible design. You should not force the user to have a recovery key or lose access permanent. Sorry to be blunt but that is just plain stupid. There has to be other ways for users to verify themselves. Do you know how many people lose their crypto wallet this way?

Please don't try to be super unique. Stick to what has been working and make is easy for users. It is okay that you require the key, but you cannot force the user as that is the only method. I like your app overall, but this requirement for a recovery key is just a total turn off. Even larger companies like Google don't enforce this as their only policy. When we lost access to 2FA, they have other ways for users to authenticate themselves.

If you change this policy, it will be a beyond 5 stars review for me. If not, I cannot claim this as positive experience.

Can recording be done for system audio only? Lime Camtasia, where it records direct audio from the computer rather than from the speaker of the computer? Doing it with system audio cuts off any external noises as well as the softer muffled sound of recording from a computer speaker.

Hi @Peter, sure you can record the system audio. You have to enable it in the screen sharing permission dialog. Here is a Calipio showing you how to do it https://calip.io/m72sO1FI#S4V3rC8j

But even so, the video demo you sent says share audio not record with system audio? Are we talking about the same thing? Recording system audio means it records the audio internally and should have nothing to do with whether the audio is shared or not?

Hi @Peter,

recoding system audio heavily depends on the used browser and operating system. You can see a table here https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/MediaDevices/getDisplayMedia#browser_compatibility

What browser and operating system are you using?

Yes we are talking about the same thing ;) The permission dialog with the "Share audio" checkbox is not in the scope of the Calipio web application. The dialog is created by the browser itself. Even if the text is a bit misleading, this option can be used to record system audio.

Potentially really excited, but it depends on when the API will go live, and what's included in it.

1. i don't see an API on your roadmap, can you let me know when it will go live?

2. Will the API allow for webcam recording only?

3. Will the API output a download link to the video?

4. Does recording (api based) work in a mobile browser?

5. When using the API, will the SDK be branded? (i would buy 3 codes).

6. Will the api output a video player, or method perhaps of playing a video like an embedded video player, or video id?

Thanks so much!!

Hey @Vik,

I will try to answer your questions more precisely.

1. You are right the API is not explicitly on the roadmap. But embedding the recorder and player are part of it.

2. You will have the possibility to either let the user choose what to record or predefine. So yes, it is possible to record webcam only.

3. Yes thats exactly what it does. You will receive the link in a javascript callback.

4. No it wont :( We would love to do recording on mobile browser but the browsers do not support this.

5. The custom branding will for sure have some settings to modify the look of the recorder. Nevertheless it is not white labeling, therefore there will be some small hint to calipio. Like "Powered by Calipio"

6. The recorder will output the recording link which can be used in an embedded player or be passed to some other systems.

The password is contained in the URL. What you could do right now is to just remove it from the URL. For example the original URL looks like this https://calip.io/m72sO1FI#S4V3rC8j If you remove the part behind # the player will prompt for the password https://calip.io/m72sO1FI

Important side note: If the receiver of the link without password is a member of the same library he does not need to enter the password.
